The transfer date of Palparan was relayed by Armed Forces chief Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr. to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.

“Sir accordingly this coming Wednesday," Roque said quoting Galvez, when he asked when Palparan would be turned over to Muntinlupa.

Palparan remains detained at the Army custodial center two weeks after he was found guilty of kidnapping and serious illegal detention of two university students. The family of the missing students have reportedly complained that the military should be cited in contempt for its continued custody of Palparan.

A regional trial court in Malolos, Bulacan convicted Palparan and two others over the kidnapping and serious illegal detention of UP students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño. The three have been sentenced to life imprisonment and were ordered to pay ₱100,000 for civil damages and ₱200,00 for moral damages.
