DPWH employee arrested in Biliran drug bust

An employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Biliranwas arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Sept. 17.

PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspect as Dave Juntilla, 36, considered a high-value target by the authorities.

Joint elements of PDEA Regional Office VIII (PDEA RO VIII) under the supervision of Director Edgar Jubay, Almeria Municipal Police Station, and Almeria Drug Enforcement Unit, conducted a buy-bust operation at around 6:30 p.m.in Barangay Matanggo, Biliran, resulting in the arrest of Juntilla.

Seized from the suspect were five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, weighing more or less 0.2 gram with an estimated value of P1,360.00.

Juntillawill be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
