It looks like Senator Antonio Trillanes IV will stay longer in the Senate.

Trillanes, on Friday, said he has decided to remain within the Senate compound until the concerned courts finally decide on the cases regarding the invalidation of his amnesty.

“I was advised by my lawyers to just wait for the final resolution of the courts, nullifying the proclamation of (President) Duterte,” Trillanes said in a press briefing.

On Thursday, Trillanes had planned to go home “quietly,” but later aborted the move after two men, whom he claimed were arresting officers, followed his vehicle when it went out of the Senate to refuel.

The same incident occurred last night when his staff used his car for an errand, he added.

Trillanes said he will heed his lawyers’ advice as he continued to doubt pronouncements from the government that he would not be taken into custody without a warrant.

The court rulings, he said, would put an end to the “ambiguity” of their statements.

“So, in the meantime, the decision is to stay in the Senate until court cases are resolved,” he said.
