822 people, 156 vehicles, 8 ships stranded in various Bicol ports

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay — At least 822 individuals, 156 vehicles and 8 ships stranded in different major ports in Bicol region, according to reports from Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5).

Chief Insp. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said 145 individuals stranded in Tabaco port; 7 persons in San Andres port; 3 in Virac port; 610 in Matnog port; 32 in Pilar port in Sorsogon; and 25 in Bulan port.

Calubaquib, said the report is based on the PNP monitoring as of 6 a.m. of Friday.

She added that 30 vehicles were stranded in Tabaco port, 10 in San Andres port in Catanduanes; 1 in Virac port and 115 in Matnog port in Sorsogon.

Also stranded ships are 4 in Albay and 4 in Catanduanes.

Meanwhile, Calubaquib added that there are 444 evacuation centera ready to accommodate evacuees as of press time.

Catanduanes has 285 evacuation centers; Naga with 20; Albay 52; and Camarines Norte, 87 evacuation centers.
