Police identified the fatality as Young Ho Lee.

Sr. Insp. Janelito Marquez, deputy chief of the Mabolo Police Station, said investigators were already pursuing two persons of interests in connection with Lee’s death.

Citing the testimony of some witnesses, Marquez said two men on separate motorcycles with female backriders left the motel shortly after the shooting.

Lee suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Marquez said responding police found drug-sniffing paraphernalia and a receipt from a money courier inside the victim’s room.

The receipt contained the name of a man, whose address indicated he lives in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.
Marquez said when they conducted a follow-up operation, they discovered that the man was suspected to be a drug pusher who lives in Liloan town, also in northern Cebu.

Marquez said they believed that personal grudges could be the motive of the attack.

“According to the witness, the victim kept on saying sorry before he was shot. It’s possible that the victim had done something wrong or it could be that unsettled debt was the motive of the killing,” said Marquez.
