Newly identified drug personalities yield in police operations in Ilocos

La Union — Police operatives have listed newly identified drug personalities in their massive operations in the Ilocos region, according to Chief Supt. Romulo E. Sapitula, the Region 1 police director.


Sapitula said that for the period of August 1-22, 2018, a total of 296 police operations were conducted regionwide which resulted in the arrest of 304 drug personalities.

“Out of the 304 arrested, 279 of them were newly identified drug personalities and 25 of them were included in the Directorate for Intelligence Watchlist,” Sapitula said.

“The police regional office in Region 1 is continuously addressing the problem on illegal drugs because this is one of the major concerns to ensure the safety and security of the residents,” he said.

As part of the region’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs, house visitations were also maximized to stop further proliferation of illegal drug activities in the region.

Sapitula lauded the men and women of police regional office for their relentless and chilling efforts in Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign.

“Suppressing the supply of illegal drugs will surely lead to the eradication of demands for illegal drugs. The police regional office, on its utmost efforts is working out a firm anti-illegal drug campaign regionwide so that we can achieve a drug free community as soon as we can,” he said.

Sapitula assured the police regional office will continuously strive for quality service and holistic development of peace and order.
