A total of 565 applicants were hired at the job fair by the Parañaque Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) held at the Parañaque City Hall on Thursday.
Out of the 1,217 total applicants, 385 were hired on the spot at the whole-day job fair where 96 companies participated and assisted the hopeful jobseekers.
Jimenez said multinational corporations, giant property developers, resort hotels and BPO firms located in the new central business district of Parañaque – the Pagcor Entertainment City – participated in the said event.
This year’s successful turnout was higher compared to last year.
Last month, the city government also conducted a mini-job fair at the city’s sports complex wherein 81 applicants got hired on the spot.
For his part, Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez assured residents that the city government will continue to intensify the campaign to provide gainful employment opportunities for city residents every year.
He added the policy will ensure that companies would prioritize local applicants recommended by the city hall for any employment opportunities after undergoing a thorough screening, evaluation and job-matching processes.
