Have you noticed President Duterte’s darker complexion nowadays?

The President has explained that he has darker skin on the face after getting a sunburn from his visits to the countryside.

Duterte made the clarification to dispel allegations made by communist leader Jose Maria Sison that his skin darkening was supposedly sign of poor health.

“Look at what he is now. Instead of focusing on the betterment of the movement, he is saying things like my face looks burned,” Duterte said during a visit to a military camp in Davao City on Thursday.

“Whose skin wouldn’t darken? I’m the only one who likes to roam in the mountains,” he added.

Duterte also said he does not use any face powder since his skin gets irritated. “I don’t like using the product that women use because it melts on my face. I get irritated. Iyong sa eleksyon pa ito,” he added.

Sison earlier alleged that Duterte fell into a coma last weekend, citing reports he was seen with a darker complexion and unstable handshake and walk during a public event in Davao City.

Duterte, however, bared that Sison “played into his hands” after feeding him wrong information about his health. He claimed that “stupid Sison” believed the false information he spread that he was suffering from stage three cancer and kidney failure.

“He played into my hands. Alam mo ‘di ba — you are not familiar with my — you are my familiar with my language ‘yung talkaties ko. Bastos ako,” Duterte said.

“’O kumusta ka Mayor?’ ‘Ah wala may cancer ako. Third stage ako. I don’t know if I can…’ That’s how I talk. But before I left Malacañang, I whispered something. I said tell him that I flew somewhere because I am suffering from kidney failure and my cancer is spreading,” he said.

Duterte earlier said he believes he still has a long life ahead of him despite his “perpetual pain” from a spinal injury after a motorcycle accident several years ago.

He insisted that Sison, currently living in exile in the Netherlands, was the one sick with colon cancer.

“He has undergone operation several times but the cancer has spread to his pancreas. Yet he still boasts that I’m comatose. Comatose your s***. You’re the one who’s dying. How arrogant,” he said.
