Netflix and Channel 4 have officially renewed “The End of the F*cking World” for a second season.

Starred by Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden, the British dark comedy-drama follows the story of teenagers James and Alyssa, embark on a road trip that turned into a chaotic journey. As they caught themselves in a series of violent circumstances, they are eventually trailed by two police detectives.

Inspired by the award-winning comic book of Charles Forsman, the second season of “The End of the F*cking World” will be written by Charlie Covell once again.

In an interview with Collider, Covell said that the season two will maintain its focus on the story of James and Alyssa.

“For me, it’s about James and Alyssa and I think that’s what people have connected with,” Covell said.

“We’re exploring and we’re seeing what we can do to expand the world and see where we get to. But we conceived the show as, in a way, as a movie; a movie in structure. And I think that that is something we’re going to have to expand if we want a bigger story,” he added.

The series will be produced by Clerkenwell Films and Dominic Buchanan Productions, along with Murray Ferguson, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker, Charlie Covell, Dominic Buchanan and Jonathan Entwistle serving as executive producers.

Netflix released “The End of the F*cking World” earlier this year.

Season two will premiere globally on Netflix, except in the UK where it will premiere on Channel 4.
