‘District level high-value target’ nabbed in Pasig

The Eastern Police District’s Special Operations Unit personnel nabbed a tagged “district level high-value target” Friday evening in Pasig City.

Efren Sulit, 41, male, a motorcycle mechanic, was arrested by authorities at his residence in 264 M. Suarez Avenue, Barangay Palatiw, Pasig City around 6:30 p.m., Friday.

A search warrant for illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs was served against the suspect following the order of Executive Judge Danilo Cruz of Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 152.

Authorities recovered two caliber 38 guns, one uzi submachine gun, one magazine for uzi, 38 sachets of suspected “shabu” amounting approximately to P25,000, and other drug paraphernalia.

According to EPD officer, Sulit was a drug surrenderee at the time of former PNP Chief General and now BuCor Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa’s Oplan Tokhang campaign.

However, the suspect was allegedly proven to have been using and peddling illegal drugs continuously even after he surrendered after a series of test buys while under surveillance according to the police.

The suspect was now detained in Pasig City Central Police Station.
