Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) second of six Airbus A350 orders touched down at the NAIA Terminal 2 at exactly 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 15) after a 16-hour journey from the Toulouse Blagnac Airport in France, Cielo Villaluna, PAL communications manager said in a post in Facebook.
In command of the direct non-stop journey was a flight deck crew led by PAL’s A350 Chief Pilot Captain Emmanuel “Butch” Generoso.
PAL said the 295-seater A350 900 aircraft – which will be deployed on PAL’s direct non-stop flight to New York (JFK) and on PAL’s route to London, both in October this year – has business, premium economy and economy class cabins with modern amenities, Wi-Fi connectivity, entertainment and mood-lighting systems.
Four more Airbus A350 deliveries are set to be carried out within the next year and a half. The new A350 planes, which form part of the flag carrier’s fleet modernization program, promises an ultra-comfortable and satisfying passenger experience, Villaluna added.
French priests blessed the PAL aircraft before its departure from Toulouse, home of the Airbus Corporate Headquarters and Airbus Factory.
Last July 15, PAL’s first A350 arrived in Manila carrying a delegation of PAL officials and journalists.
