NoLCom teams ready for deployment to Pangasinan, Pampanga, Tarlac

DAGUPAN CITY—–The Disaster Response Teams (DRTs) of the Northern Luzon Command (NoLCom) are now ready for deployment as Tropical Depression (TD) “Karding” threatens Northern and Central Luzon

Lt Col Isagani Nato, spokesman of NoLCom said all units are alerted to prepare for the conduct of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Operations (HADRO) in affected areas within their areas of responsibility.

In Tarlac, its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has

coordinated with the 3rd Mechanized Battalion (3Mech Bn), under the Joint Task Force (JTF) “Kaugnay” of the 7th Infantry Division (7ID), Philippine Army, requesting for assistance for the planned preevacuation in the town of Camiling, wherein the latter immediately sent two DRTs in said area.

While DRT from the Tactical Operations Group 3 (TOG3) of the Tactical Operations Wing – Northern Luzon (TOWNOL was deployed, Philippine Air Force was also sent to Camiling, Tarlac for possible rescue operations caused by continuous rainfall in the province.

Nato said that in Pampanga, the 48th Infantry Battalion (48IB), also under JTF “Kaugnay”, has already established contact and coordinated with the Regional DRRMC 3 in the City of San Fernando and subsequently instructed its DRTs to prepare for deployment.

Red Alert Status was also raised by NoLCom effective yesterday in anticipation of the effects of TD “Karding” and the strengthened southwest monsoon or “Habagat.”
