249.2mm amount of rainfall recorded in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Baguio Synoptic Station recorded 249.2mm amount of rainfall in Baguio City from August 11 (8 a.m.) to August 12 (8 a.m.).

Due to continuous heavy rains, Binga Dam two spillway gate opened at around 8 a.m.Aug. 11 and six gates on 6 a.m. August 12, while Ambuklao Dam opened 8 gates at 6 a.m. August 12 with 6.5m before it reaches the critical reservoir water level of 752.

Hiking, trekking and all other tourism activities in the following areas are temporarily suspended due to inclement weather: Mt. Pulag, Kabayan, Benguet; Mt. Purgatory, Bokod, Benguet; Mt. Pigingan, Brgy Dalupirip, Itogon, Benguet ; Mt Ulap, Brgy Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet; Sagada, Mt, Province, spelunking activities.

All mining activities for Itogon, Benguet are suspended due to the inclement weather. Small-scale mining activities in all parts of Benguet are also suspended.
