Ingente said the surrender was made somewhere in Mahagwa area, Barangay Hagpa, Impasug-ong town, Bukidnon,
The 4th ID POA chief also said the surrenderers were members of Guerilla Front Committee 4-B of the CPP-NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).
They brought along with them rifles and live ammunition and also gave these up to the command group of 8th IB under Lt. Col. Ronald Illana, the 4th ID PAO chief said.
Identities of the surrendered CNTs were temporarily withheld for their safety and security.
“They come down from the mountains due to hardship, lack of foods and false promises,” claimed Ingente.
“They were promised financial support of P5,000, and a sack of rice every month for their families, yet none of these became true,” said the 4th ID PAO chief, quoting the statement of the surrenderers during initial investigation.
