Manila, Philippines— The ninth most wanted person of Leyte was arrested in Pasig City Sunday.

Benjie Pelayo Villaruel, 41, a native of Mahaplag, Leyte was arrested in a joint operation after Presiding Judge Absalon U. Fulache of Baybay, Leyte served an arrest warrant against Villaruel for a rape case back in 2006.
In a joint operation conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Branch of Leyte Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Station Intelligence Branch of Pasig Central Police Station, Villaruel was caught at 8:30 in the evening on Sunday along Luis St., Barangay San Miguel, Pasig City while the suspect is under surveillance after the suspect’s presence was confirmed by intelligence reports in Pasig City.
The incident happened in San Juan, Leyte in 2006 where Villaruel raped her 12-year-old half-sister.
