In an interview, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said of the 79,289 ballots, 53,009 will be for the village polls while the remaining 26, 280 will be for the youth polls.

He said they will start printing the official ballots on August 27 and it will run until September 1.

To recall, the Commission En Banc on January 31, 2018, resolved to defer the barangay and SK polls in war-torn Marawi City, owing to prevailing conditions in the city, after the conduct of three public consultations in Mindanao whether or not to postpone said polls in the entirety of the region.

On Wednesday, the Comelec announced that the village and youth polls in Marawi will already be held next month.

Based on the calendar of activities for BSKE2018 Marawi, the Election Period is already set to begin this August 17 and it will run until September 29.

The Gun Ban runs for the entire Election Period and covers Marawi only.

Aspiring candidates, meantime, will have eight days to file their Certificates of Candidacy from August 23 to 30, and nine days for the Campaign Period, from September 12 to 20.

The last day for the filing of the Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs), on the other hand, is on October 22.
