The University of the Philippines (UP) System on Thursday announced that eligible students may now submit their online applications for the Student Financial Assistance (SFA) for Academic Year (AY) 2018-2019.
“We are pleased to inform everyone that the Student Financial Assistance (SFA) Online is ready to accept applications for AY 2018-2019,” UP Office of Student Financial Assistance announced in an advisory posted on https://sfaonline.up.edu.ph/
The SFA online reminded that it will only accept applications from undergraduate UP students “who are not eligible” for Free Higher Education under Republic Act (RA) 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Act (UAQTEA) and those who “would like to request financial assistance through UP’s Socialized Tuition System.”
Other UP students who are eligible for the SFA are those “enrolled in Juris Doctor and Doctor of Medicine who would like to request financial assistance through UP’s Socialized Tuition System.”
UP also reminded interested and eligible applicants to take note of the schedule for the 1st semester AY 2018-2019. The submission of application forms for the SFA is from August to August 7, 2018. The release of application results is scheduled on August 8 while the submission of appeals is from August 8 to 10, 2018.
“Undergraduate students who would like to request financial assistance through donor-funded scholarship programs of UP may also submit entries to SFA Online,” the university said. Meanwhile, UP noted that “applicants to these scholarship programs may still be required to submit accomplished application forms and copies of other documents (e.g. income tax return, employment contract) to their Scholarship and Financial Assistance units to complete their application.”
