DAVAO CITY –– A taxi driver died on arrival at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) after being stabbed Thursday dawn.
Police said Joel Calipayan Derecho, 39, a driver of STC Taxi and a resident of Purok 2, New Visayas, Panabo City was found bleeding out along the road at Upper Ilang, Davao City around 4 a.m.
A responding police officer said the victim reported he was stabbed by an unidentified suspect.
The suspect fled towards the Ababo Compound, Upper Ilang.
Efforts to save the victim were in vain after the doctor at the SPMC said the victim died along the way to the hospital.
