A mild earthquake jolted Davao City early morning today, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said a 3.4 magnitude tremor was registered at 4:58 a.m.
The epicenter was plotted only 5 kilometers (km) southwest of that frontier and capital city of Davao, in Davao del Sur province.
The tremor had a depth of 23 km, it said.
No aftershock was raised by the state agency.
The tremor was tectonic in origin, Phivolcs said.
Intensity III was registered at the heart of Davao City, it also said.
The Southern Mindanao Office of Civil Defense there reported no damage or injury.
