Newly installed CDRRMC-Command Center to be launched

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Newly installed City Disaster Risk Reduction Council – Command Center to be launched on August 2018 inside the City Hall this city.

This command center will give security measures by installing 52 closed-circuit television (CCTV) along the central business district and several intersection areas primarily on the busy streets.

According to Julie Ann Hipona, city disaster risk reduction management officer said that related to peace in order of the city, these CCTV will help apprehensions to illegal parking, vehicle accidents, and life threating.

“This camera is a high definition and the main installation backbone is used by fiber optic wires installed in the CBD, however, some cameras are wireless which installed in some parts of Dalumpinas Oeste, and Pagdalagan entry and exit points,” said Hipona in a local dialect.

Aside from these new CCTV, the command center have also newly purchased Public Address System or paging system; 4 new trunk-line numbers; 5 sets Ultra high frequency (UHF) Radio with Global Positioning System (GPS); 20 sets non-GPS; 1 set Base Radio digital with personal repeater; and 4 sets desktop computers to be used on monitoring system.

The city was acquired a budget worth of Php. 12,938,000.

Hipona also added for guidelines for requesting CCTV footage from netizens, “as much as possible we only give copies to the authorities, court, and police investigation, but for the residents, we need a copy of police blotter,” said.

“This footage is very confidential information according to data policy because we are avoiding for sensational posted in social media,” Hipona added.
