Forty barangay service vehicles will soon be distributed to barangay captains in the second district.
Initially, P30 million had been approved and released through the initiative of Bataan Rep. Joet S. Garcia who requested for the fund and was given approval by Rep Karlo Nograles, chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations.
Nograles was in Bataan Wednesday to meet various organizations, barangay, and local leaders.
Nograles, 1st district representative of Davao city, committed to fund various infrastructure projects in Bataan such as the additional building of Bataan General Hospital and the renovation of Alion barangay market as requested by Captain Al Balan who met him personally.
Vice Governor Cris Garcia said that the Provincial Board had earlier approved a resolution endorsing the request for funding by Rep Joet Garcia.
“We have more than 100 barangays in the second district but only those barangays who had first submitted a master plan will be given service vehicles,” pointed out the vice governor.
She said however that all of the barangays in the second district will be given service vehicles once the additional budget is released.
Earlier, Rep Garcia met all barangay captains whom he urged to come up with their own master plan for possible funding of their needs.
