Drug pushers killed in shoot out
A notorious drug pusher was killed in Valenzuela City after he allegedly engaged lawmen in a shootout during a sting Saturday afternoon.
Eduardo Espino, of legal age, jobless, was declared dead on arrival at the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital, police said.
Espino was shot dead after he allegedly fired at the undercover operatives led by Chief Inspector Jowilouie Bilaro during a buy-bust operation launched in Barangay Malanday around 1 p.m.
Police said they recovered a caliber. 38 revolver and 15 sachets of shabu from Espino.
Meanwhile, police arrested 46-year-old Jojit Domingo, pedicab driver.
Domingo was caught buying illegal drugs from Espino. Seized from him were two sachets of shabu.
Last week, two drug suspects in Valenzuela City, including the the No. 1 drug pusher in Dulong Tangke, were also gunned down after they allegedly resisted arrest during separate operations. (Kate Javier)
2 jeepney drivers nabbed for drug peddling
Two jeepney drivers, who moonlight as drug peddlers, were apprehended in a buy-bust operation in San Juan City early Sunday morning.
Police identified the suspects as Gilbert Santos, 43; and Ricky Fuentes, 49. Both are residents of Barangay West Crame, San Juan.
Investigation revealed that at 2:20 a.m., undercover policemen transacted with Santos and Fuentes along a street in Barangay West Crame.
Seized from them were three plastic sachets containing shabu and the marked money.
As per probers, the jeepney drivers usually ply EDSA Green Hills route. Reports said that they had been selling shabu to some of their passengers
San Juan police warned drug peddlers in the city that police will continue to intensify their illegal drugs drive.
The suspects, meanwhile, denied that they are into drug peddling.
