Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino, PRO2 director will deploy enough PNP personnel in places were rallies/protest will be held to ensure an orderly and peaceful conduct of such activities.

He noted that while the PNP want to protect protesters’ rights, they also need to protect the public’s right to free and orderly access to roads.

“The protesters have all the freedom to exercise their right to freedom of expression but this should be done orderly and peacefully and your police have the duty as public servants to protect the public from any untoward incident that may occur during the activity,” RD Espino added.

The Regional Director also reminded his men to exercise maximum tolerance during mass demonstrations and to always observe the Police Operational Procedures and put the highest respect to human rights in conducting CDM operations during mass protests in SONA.
