BIÑAN CITY, Laguna- Three drug suspects, including a member of Rojo criminal gang, were killed by police in a shootout following the drug-bust operation Sitio Almazora, Barangay Canlalay, this city.
Laguna Police provincial director Sr.Supt. Kirby John B. Kraft identified the suspects as Isagani Timajo, a member of Rojo Criminal Gang, resident of Almazora, Brgy. Canlalay; Ken Bautista, 24, single and resident of Pacita Avenue Mainroad Phase 6 Pacita 1, San Pedro City, and a certain Pepong.
Kraft said that about 11 p.m. on Friday, joint personnel of Biñan City Drug Enforcement Unit and San Pedro City police led by Sr. Insp. Fernando Credo, Chief of the Intelligence section conducted an anti-illegal drug operation against the suspects.
Police poseur buyer managed to buy shabu from Timajo, but the latter sensed the buyer was a police officer.
Timajo ran away while firing his gun at the lawmen but missed, while his two cohorts reinforced also fired shots at and at this juncture the policemen exchanged gunfire that neutralized the suspects.
Recovered and confiscated were three caliber .38 revolvers, several pieces of illegal drugs and the still undetermined amount of money believed to be drug money.
