Philippine Airlines on Friday night released a statement about Los Angeles to Manila flight being canceled when a moving ground equipment hit the wing of the aircraft.
“Our Los Angeles to Manila flight today is declared canceled,” PAL said.
“Moving ground equipment hit the wing of the aircraft. As such, aircraft has to remain on ground in LA until it secures clearance to depart.”
PAL also said that all passengers will be accommodated on a replacement flight.
“An aircraft is slated to depart this evening …to be used for the said replacement flight. We seek the understanding of our passengers.”
“The incident happened before boarding, so there were no passengers inside plane when ground equipment (airstair) hit the wing,” PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said in a text message.
“Replacement flight departs LAX Airport at 12:05AM July 21 LAX time / arriving MNL 6AM July 22.”
