The Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division called “very unfortunate” that the shooting incident involving two of their personnel at the Headquarters of the Bravo Company, 94th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Lagdungan, Tapaz, Capiz Thursday morning.
The 3rd ID said that based on the initial report, Private First Class Delio Sebarillo was duty on post when for still unknown reason he was shot by Private First Class Sarjie Labao using his 9mm caliber pistol at about 4 a.m. Thursday.
PFC Sebarillo was immediately brought to Tapaz District Hospital in Barangay Switch, Tapaz, but declared as dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending physician.
Meanwhile, PFC Labao is now under the custody of Tapaz PNP as part of the legal process.
The 3rd ID said a parallel investigation will be conducted pertaining to the incident.
“Rest assured that this is an isolated case and we will make sure that justice will be served,” Captain Eduardo Precioso, 3rd ID Spokesman, said.
“Our psychological investigation is also ongoing,” he said.
