IdeaSpace Foundation, Inc. (IdeaSpace), an incubator and accelerator based in the Philippines, has selected the top tech startups in its yearly competition that will go on to join the acceleration program.

Each of the winning teams will receive equity-free funding, training, mentorship, legal services, and office space located in Makati City worth a combined total of at least P1 million in funding support and other in-kind services.

The winners are:

* Impactville – A business solution to help organizations measure outputs and outcomes for CSR programs

* Zestagram – An online resume-builder that helps students and fresh graduates acquire relevant work experience while still in school through an internship to employment program.

* WizherApp – A Software for routers that makes accessing and controlling the WiFi easier

* 1export – A platform where buyers are matched with local sellers

* CreatorsPub – An online publishing platform for content creators

* ECFulfill – A business solution to help local MSMEs sell on Amazon

“We are encouraged at the range and quality of the entries in this year’s contest. The founders have fresh ideas and we look forward to working closely with them to build viable businesses that will spark innovation and jobs for our country,” said Rene “Butch” Meily, President of IdeaSpace.

When IdeaSpace Chairman Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan, was asked what the secret sauce is for an idea to succeed, he said “Startups are just as much about people as they are about ideas. Ideas will remain ideas without someone mustering the drive to execute.”

“When IdeaSpace was established six years ago, the main idea—and our guiding principle—was a sincere desire to help entrepreneurs, particularly those in the technology and startup industry,” said Diane Eustaquio, Executive Director of IdeaSpace.

After a six-week incubation period, the top startups that emerged from hundreds of entries from around the country pitched to a panel of judges including Mr. Victorico P Vargas, Assistant Director of First Pacific and Head of Business Transformation for PLDT, Mr. Rodrigo E. Franco, President and CEO of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, Atty. Marilyn A. Victorio-Aquino, Assistant Director of First Pacific and President and CEO of Metro Pac Movers Incorporated, Mr. Raymond B. Ravelo – Vice President and Head of Strategy and Business Development for Meralco, Atty. Pilar Nenuca P. Almira, President and CEO for Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Ms. Irene Licas of PLDT’s Strategy Office, and Christopher H. Young, Executive Director and Chief Finance Officer of First Pacific.

In line with the commitment of IdeaSpace in supporting entrepreneurship, the newest cohort will undergo classes and training for product development, customer profiling, finance and team management.

Aside from the funding and business support, IdeaSpace will also connect these startups to companies supporting the foundation for potential partnerships in the future.

Startups that achieve their business metrics within the acceleration program will be qualified to showcase their product at a Demo Day event this year and follow-through startup benefits.

IdeaSpace is on its sixth year in helping promising technopreneurs to develop phenomenal innovations and transform these into successful businesses. Last year’s finalists included up-and-coming startups such as cloud-based grading platform Wela School Systems, an employee empowerment platform Snipe, a social utility web and mobile app for blood donors Blood Hero, and an online styling and clothing subscription service StyleGenie.

Ideaspace, a non-profit organization supporting a total of 74 startups, is the largest private-sector commitment for technology entrepreneurship based in the Philippines. IdeaSpace is supported by the following companies: First Pacific, First Pacific Leadership Academy, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), MPIC hospital group, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), Meralco, Smart Communications, Inc (Smart), Indofood, Philex Mining, Maynilad, and TV5.
