CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) office in Bataan on Monday started conducting the 2018 Family Income and Expenditure (FIES) in 1,477 households in 74 barangays of the province.

PSA-Bataan urged the support of local government units (LGUs) for the cooperation of respondents during personal household interviews which will end on July 31, 2018.

“This conduct of FIES 2018 round will serve as a milestone when the number of sample households is deemed sufficient to provide provincial estimates for the first time,” Chief Statistical Specialist Ledesma Morante said.

The personal interview with an eligible respondent from sample household estimably runs from one to three hours using an 80-page questionnaire.

Morante said that at least 70 statistical researchers have been deployed by the PSA provincial office to conduct the survey in the province.

Morante disclosed that FIES is a nationwide survey of household undertaken every three years. It is the main source of data on family income and expenditure that includes sources of income in cash and in kind.

PSA assures that all information provided will be kept confidential as provided under Section 26 and Article 55 of the Implementing Rules and Regulation of the Republic Act 10625.
