Led by DFA Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs Principal Assistant Renee Gayle Chua and Office of International Economic Relations Principal Assistant Dan Erwin Bagaporo, the Philippine delegation met with China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Director General Qiu Xinli and discussed enhanced dialogue between the two foreign ministries.

According to the DFA, the weeklong visit that ended last July 9 is just one of the many other activities aimed to enhance exchanges between Filipino and Chinese diplomats, under the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation inked between the Philippine foreign office and the MFA on July 25, 2017.

While in Beijing, the Philippine delegation visited the ASEAN-China Center to better acquaint themselves with the organization’s ongoing initiatives to promote ASEAN-China cooperation.

They were also given a tour of the headquarters of the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan to appreciate the potential use of bamboo and rattan towards sustainable development, and the China Academy of Space Technology to witness China’s latest advanced technology in space exploration and its practical application.
