Calderon was suspended after a barangay secretary complained that the mayor verbally abused her in a local event last year.

The mayor has denied the charges against him and claimed that he had a video footage that could prove his innocence.

Calderon filed a motion for reconsideration, in vain.

Vice Mayor Sonny Rubin assumed the mayoral post while Councilor Jeri Mae Calderon served as acting vice mayor and Sangguniang Bayan presiding officer during the duration of Mayor Calderon’s suspension.

The town’s ‘higantes’ joined Monday’s welcome activity outside the municipal hall as the municipal mayor of this art capital was welcomed by supporters.

Calderon also warned residents that the authorities will continue to go after people consuming alcoholic beverages and gambling in public places and other violators of locals ordinances that they will be dealt with accordingly.
