Assistant City administrator for Administration and Lawyer Tristan Dwight Domingo confirmed SMDC’s turnover of a check worth P3 million for the festival this August.

“This is a huge thing for our festival. This is the first time that SMDC is sponsoring us and this is the highest sponsorship so far,” he said.

As the biggest sponsor, SMDC will get to choose which day during the festival would be best to schedule their activity.

Domingo has recognized SMDC’s role in the growth of the city and the Dabawenyos— as their investments translate into economic activities and employment.

“We are looking forward to their help in the economy of Davao City as they invest here,” Domingo added.

The annual festival has a P44 million budget for the year, with the city government footing P12 million and the private sector in charge of raising the rest of the amount.
