MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal said OFWs may proceed to the ground floor of the MIAA administration building 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday except during holidays.

Last March 15, 2017, Manila Airport signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with all the airline officials that paved way for the abolition of the collection of the “terminal fee” from OFWs.

The MOA was implemented on April 2017, and all OFWs are now exempted from paying the P550.00 airport’s terminal fee.

Monreal came up with the decision after his office worked on the technical details and coordination with the international airlines for the full exemption of OFWs.

Monreal implemented the full exemption of terminal fee after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the implementation of the law pertaining to it.

The MOA that abolished the collection of the terminal fee from OFWs was signed by airlines executives, MIAA, Overseas Workers Welfare (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the Susan Ople Foundation, and OFW advocates while recruitment agencies representative served as witnesses.
