A Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office advisory warned Dabawenyos to avoid the northern portion of the city because of heavy traffic due to flooding along the La Verna and Cabantian portion of the Diversion Road.

Traffic was at a standstill after the whole road was rendered impassable due to the flood.

Some vehicles that got caught in the middle of the deluge had to be pushed to higher grounds.

The problems cascaded to the downtown area as commuters were left stranded due to the lack of public utility vehicles.

The city's drainage system is currently undergoing renovation, with road and other infrastructure projects being undertaken because of the government's Build, Build, Build program.
