Wooyoung, member of K-pop boy band 2PM, will be enlisting in the Korean military next month.
According to JYP Entertainment, the 29-year-old singer will enter the military training camp on July 9.
He will be the third member of 2PM to fulfill the mandatory military service for Korean men. Taecyeon enlisted on Sept. 4 last year as an active duty soldier while Jun.K entered the military last May 8.
During a fan event on June 16, Wooyoung revealed that he would enlist soon.
“This will be my last event (before going to the military). I will come back to you as a real man after adjusting myself (to the military) soundly without any injuries,” he said, according to Yonhap News.
JYP Entertainment did not reveal the location of Wooyoung’s enlistment as the singer want to enlist without any fanfare.
“The exact location of the place of enlistment will not be made public as Wooyoung wanted to do it quietly,” the agency said.
Wooyoung released the album “Bye” last January.
