The series will be available in the world’s leading subscription service for watching TV episodes and movies on July 7.

‘Mr. Sunshine’ was written by Kim Eun-sook and directed by Lee Eung-bok, both behind the hit K-drama series Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.

Set in the 19th century, the story is about a US marine officer Eugene Choi (starred by G.I. Joe actor Lee Byung-hun) who ran away from his homeland and boarded an American warship.

As he returned to Korea, he meets and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter named Go Ae-sin (played by “The Handmaiden” actress Kim Tae-ri) in the midst of uncovering a plot to colonize his homeland.

Yoo Yeon-seok, Kim Min-jung, and Byun Yo-han are also playing key roles in the story. (Janelle Lorzano)
