A boat captain and three crew members were rescued from a distressed pumpboat somewhere in the waters between Siquijor and Dumaguete City, the Philippine Coast Guard reported Thursday.
The boat, Golden Moon-IV, was sailing in the area Tuesday when its engine conked out.
The boat captain, Gilbert Bayolita, radioed the Coast Guard Southern Visayas Operations Center for help.
A Coast Guard unit was deployed to search for the boat. The vessel was found in the waters off Siquijor and Dumaguete.
Bayolita told the Coast Guard he and his crew were sailing from Tubigon, Bohol, to General Santos City.
The Golden Moon-IV was towed to Dumaguete port. The boat captain was also told to file a marine protest regarding the incident.
