CEBU CITY – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) offers free admission assessment during the two-day National Assessment Days on June 26-27 in all accredited assessment centers nationwide.
According to TESDA-Negros Oriental public information officer, Georgette Encarnacion Malagar, the 2-day National Assessment is part of TESDA’s assessment and certification program catering to the needs of workers who wants to enhance their respective skills and competence for local and global employment competitiveness.
Available qualifications for National Assessment Day in Negros Oriental are the following: Construction Sector: Pipefitting NC II, Tile Setting NC II, Carpentry NC II, Masonry NC II, Plumbing NC II; (Metals and Engineering Sector) Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II.
For the Land Transport Sector: Automotive Servicing NC I, Automotive NC II, Driving NC II and for the Tourism Sector: Cookery NC II, Bread and Pastry NC II, Events Management NC III, Barista NC II, Food Processing NC II.
For the Health, Social and Other Community Development Services: Health Care Services NC II, Caregiving NC II, Massage Therapy NC II, Helot and for (Wellness Massage) NC II, Hairdressing NC II, Beauty Care Services NC II, Pharmacy Services NC II, Bookkeeping NC III and for the Agra-Fishery Sector: Animal Production NC II, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, others.
Malagar in a release said it shall be conducted with the participation of companies, industries, local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs) and other Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) stakeholders in specific areas in the country.
The National Assessment Day according to Malagar highlights TESDA’s Competency Assessment and Certification program; promote industry acceptance and value of certification in quality and competencies of workers. It also enhances employment opportunities and entrepreneurial prospects via TESDA certifications, Malagar added.
This is open to the following applicants: (1) Interested industry workers who have work experience to perform the competencies as defined in the respective Training Regulations; (2) Career shifters and unemployed adults who are looking for jobs; (3) Graduates of TVET program; and (3) Teachers, trainers and other individuals who have undergone training in TM1 and interested to be certified TVET Trainers and / or TESDA Accredited Assessors.
In support to “Build, Build, Build” program of President Rodrigo R. Duterte (PRRD), priority shall be given to qualifications under the Construction sector. However, all qualifications shall be made available for assessment, Malagar added.
Free assessment and certification services can only be availed once. Re – assessment or assessment fee for more than one (1) qualification shall be paid by the candidate based on the TESDA – Board Approved Fees.
All interested applicants may secure and download the Application Form and Self – Assessment Guide (SAG) at https:goo.gl/sluc7c and http://www.tesda.gov.ph/Self-Assessment Guide respectively. Walk – in applicants may also secure said forms from the concern TESDA Provincial Office.
All candidate/applicants shall submit the duly accomplished application form, Self – Assessment Guide (SAG), three (3) passport size pictures, colored, white background with name written at the back and all other requirements to the accredited assessment centers or at the nearest TESDA Provincial Office.
