Cebu City – Police arrested six students having a marijuana session Wednesday night.
The students, from two different schools, were caught smoking marijuana at the back of the Cebu City Sports Center.
Manila Bulletin is withholding the name of the students because they are minors.
Chief Insp. Ma. Theresa Macatangay, chief of the Fuente police, said police rushed to Paulin Street after receiving a tip that a group of students were having a pot session in the area.
Because of the incident, the campaign against marijuana plantations will be intensified, said Senior Supt. Manuel Abrugena, Cebu provincial police chief.
“We know that there are still marijuana plantations in various towns in Cebu. We will intensify our campaign so that we will have more uprooting of marijuana plants,” said Abrugena.
Police will also closely monitor schools to prevent students from taking illegal substances, he said.
