Davao City will be the last on the government’s list of places under the national development plan, President Duterte said last Tuesday.

The President admitted that he wants to prioritize the infrastructure and other development projects of provinces such as Cebu and Clark before attending to his hometown.
"Usually, a President prepares a national program of six years ganun. Sabi ko hayaan mo. So that ang nauna to benefit was Cebu, then Clark will be the next. Maraming trabaho 'yan ," he said during the oath-taking of barangay captains from Central Luzon in Clark, Pampanga.
"Sabi ko unahin na ninyo 'yung ibang lugar. I will be the last. Hayaan mo na 'yung Davao ," he added.
Duterte recalled that he also prioritized other places in terms of projects when he was Davao City mayor. He said the road leading to his residence got paved with concrete only after other city streets were done.
"Only after that you have cemented the --- then you might want to look back and do the same for me," Duterte said.
"Kaya nauna kayong lahat . Cebu, then I think Panglao because we have to build alternative places where tourists can go," he added.
The President made the remarks a few days after getting awestruck with the new Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) terminal 2.
Duterte, who attended the inauguration of the new airport terminal, has described the airport as the country's most beautiful airport and one of the finest intentional hubs in the region. He admitted he was jealous since he never got to build a similar modern airport in Davao when he served as mayor for two decades.
