Reputation rankings for K-pop boy bands in June revealed

BTS has surged to the top spot in the latest brand reputation index for K-pop boy bands.

The Korea Corporate Research Institute released the new brand reputation rankings for idol groups for June based on analysis of 99.72 million pieces of big data from May 8 to June 9. The index was based on media coverage, communication, participation and community indices.

BTS grabbed the top spot with a score of 26.06 million, rising by 186.18 percent from their second place score of 9.1 million in May.

Phrases associated with the boy band include “Fake Love,” “Billboard” and “YouTube” and they earned a positive reaction rate of 94.55 percent. The boy band recently topped the Billboard 200, a first for a K-pop act. Their music video for “Fake Love” has reached 149 million views as of this writing while their September 2017 music video “DNA” has garnered 401 million hits to date.

Placing second is Wanna One with a score of 15.04 million, up by 21.39 percent from their previous score of 12.39 million.

EXO bagged third place with 5.45 million while SHINee rose from 10th to fourth place with 4.85 million and Seventeen placed fifth with 3.58 million.

The sixth to 20th places are Winner, NCT, Big Bang, BTOB and iKON, The Boyz, Infinite, ASTRO, VIXX, GOT7, BEAST, Super Junior, Cross Gene, Teen Top and Block B.

TVXQ grabbed 21st place followed by UNB, Golden Child, MXM, 2PM, VRomance, IZ, B.A.P, JBJ and NOIR.
