Tagbilaran City – An informant who provided pertinent details that led to authorities to the hideout of one of the suspects in the kiiling of a Bohol town mayor received a P200,000 reward from the police yesterday.

Bohol provincial police director Sr. Supt. Angeles Geñorga turned over the P200,000 to  the informant responsible for the tracking down of Emigdio Aparece Jr. last Wednesday.

Aparece was killed when he shot it out with the SWAT team in Danao town.

Geñorga said two other informants politely asked not to be included in the ceremonial turnover held at the Camp Francisco Dagohoy, the provincial police headquarters.

Aparece was one of the suspects in the killing of Buenavista Mayor Ronald Lowell Tirol.

Geñorga said Aparece was linked to at least 17 murder or frustrated murder cases.

The Bohol police chief said the other suspect, Elmer “Eti” Melencion, based on their last information is still in Bohol.

Tirol was gunned down by three men inside a cockpit in Buenavista town last May 27.
