“They were able to refill their clean and reusable bottles, containers and eco bags with condiments, toiletries, and other household essentials for half of their actual retail prices in supermarkets,” EMB Regional Director Lormelyn E. Claudio said in a statement.

“Aside from promoting and bringing awareness to the concept of refilling from bulk containers, this will help cut back on plastic production, consumption and packaging, and translate to less air and water pollution,” Claudio added.

Anchored on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution: If you can’t reuse it, refuse it”, EMB conducted the activity in partnership with the provincial government of Pampanga and city government of San Fernando.

Participating companies include HAHSY Industries Inc., Wellmade, Coca-Cola, Froneri (formerly Nestle), Mister Donut and Big E, Pepsi, Interbev Unilab and SNE Corp., Soliman E.C., Juanching Works, Altima Empire Steel Corporation, Melters Steel Corporation and Far East Alcohol Corporation.

A similar activity will be held in other towns and cities of Pampanga as well as in other provinces of Central Luzon.
