Story of Dapitan so far


“Dapitan: Our Story – A Chronicle Of Over 400 Years" starts from the time Datu Pagbuaya landed on the shores Of Dapitan Bay and established a settlement there to the city's current place in the history of our country.

The book is written and edited by former Vice Consul Thaddeus T. Hamoy and currently chairman of Dapitan’s Council For Culture And The Arts. It is co-authored by Gabriel M. Cad, curator of the Rizal Shrine And Mr. Rex Angelo T. Hamoy, assistant professor IV at the Jose Rizal Memorial State University and a member of the Dapitan Heritage Council.

The book will be launched and presented to Mayor Rosalina G. Jalosjos on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the signing of the city’s charter on June 22.
