Sticks and stones, and even logs and boulders strewn all over the “lahar country” of the mount Pinatubo landscape bowed to the new Nissan Terra — the first SUV in the mid-size segment for Nissan in the Philippines.
The new frame-based Nissan Terra is the company’s answer to the challenge to join the SUV rumble in the Southeast Asian region which has recorded a high demand for all-terrain rides lately.
To be competitive, the company rolled out its new ride with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, teasing potential customers to “discover life outside” in confident comfort.
With robust exterior design, spacious interiors, and advanced driving technology, the new Nissan Terra was taken by a select group of driving journalists for a test drive in Sapang Uwak-Delta V Circuit, one of the most rugged trails leading to Mount Pinatubo.
The Terra, a descendant of the Patrol, Nissan’s tough off-road icon, originally designed for police and military use, did well on the tough test drives, and helped the participants to earn the bragging rights of conquering the demanding Sapang Uwak trail.
“Over 60 years of SUV heritage went into the development of the Nissan Terra,” said Ramesh Narasimhan, President and Managing Director of Nissan Philippines.
“The new Nissan Terra is designed to give you the confidence to take your family on exceptional urban and outdoor adventures by providing a no-compromise package.”
The Terra’s reinforced chassis, five-link coil spring rear suspension system, and rigid rear-wheel axle work together to ensure strength, durability, comfort, and convenience.
With the 4WD-DIFF lock system, coupled with Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist, drivers have more control over the wheels during 4×4 situations
The new Nissan Terra offers Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies that are designed to bring safety and convenience to both driver and passengers. The technologies include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. It is also as intelligent as it is tough, with innovations like Smart Rear View Mirror that allow drivers to see images from a camera mounted at the back.
The roomy interior seats up to seven people comfortably, offering more convenience when getting in and out of the vehicle, with its first in class second row one-touch remote fold and tumble seats. It offers one of the highest loading capacities and more rear space. With premium leather seats, advanced air conditioning system, ambient lights, and overhead entertainment, the new Nissan Terra allows passengers to relax with ease and style.
The new Nissan’s Terra’s V-motion grille gives a streamlined look from the front, while the “boomerang” LED headlamps accentuate its sharp and commanding appearance. The sleek roofline flows from the front fender to the rear, where the tail lights add to its dynamic look. Completing the exterior are 18-inch alloy wheels, designed to create exciting driving experiences both on and off the road.
Beginning June 1, 2018, customers may already reserve their vehicles at any Nissan dealership nationwide. The new Nissan Terra will be available in the market by August 20, 2018, beginning at P1.499 million.
“The Terra will change the game in the mid-size SUV segment, and that it will be the strongest contributor to the business growth of Nissan Philippines in 2018.”
