All unit commanders directed to ensure peaceful opening of classes in Mimaropa

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup, regional director of Police Regional Office-Mimaropa (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) has directed all unit commanders in the region to ensure a peaceful opening of classes tomorrow, June 4.

Licup said police stations scattered in the region will deliver public safety services , institute various crime prevention operations focusing on Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) strategy to secure the schools and their vicinities as well as other learning institutions.

Under Ligtas Balik Eskwela operation of the PNP, more or less 2,000 police personnel will be deployed in 279 public and private schools including all the areas of convergence, airports, seaports, transport terminals, malls, and business centers regionwide.

Licup reminded the public, especially the students, to take precautionary measures as criminal elements may take advantage of the situation to commit crime activities within and near the vicinity of schools and other public places.
