The Philippine National Police (PNP) will construct more police stations in the Cagayan Valley region as part of its continuing modernization program.
“These new police stations, along with those that were already built and still those under construction, will promote better performance of police officers in discharging their duties and functions as law enforcers,” said PNP Director General Oscar David Albayalde, who led the inauguration of the newly constructed standard city police station of Carig here Friday.
Albayalde said the construction of the PHP14.5-million police station was funded by the PNP, while the 1,500-square-meter lot was donated by the Tuguegarao City government.
He noted the PNP is committed to provide a conducive working place to police personnel so they could better serve the community they are assigned to.
Albayalde also assured that the police will exert all efforts to make the city peaceful, as he urged the city leaders to support the police in maintaining peace and order.
“The police cannot be successful in maintaining peace and order without the support of the community,” he added.
Meanwhile, the new two-storey PNP building will serve as a police station, jail and office.
