Fire hits Paco residential area in Manila

A fire has struck a residential area Saturday afternoon in Anakbayan, Paco, Manila.

The fire sparked inside a small shanty at 1930D, Anakbayan, Paco, Manila owned by a certain Butchocoy Galang at around 2:25 p.m., SFO3 Armando Cruz, Jr. of the Manila Fire District said.

The fire reached the second alarm by 2:31 p.m. and was raised to the third alarm a minute after at 2:32 p.m.

Manila fire marshals immediately responded to the scene and declared the fire “under control” at around 3:12 p.m.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the blaze quickly spread to 15 adjacent homes made of light materials.

Two residents sustained minor injuries and lacerations during the incident. However, no casualties have been reported.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
