American actor James Marsden will star in the film adaptation of the renowned video game ‘Sonic the Hedgehog.’

According to reports, the movie will be a combination of live-action and computer-generated imagery effects.
Jeff Fowler, writer and director of the 2005 short animated film ‘Gopher Broke,’ was tapped to direct ‘Sonic the Hedgehog.’
The 1991 game was launched by Sega which features the fastest hedgehog on Earth, namely Sonic, and his expedition with his friends to stop Doctor Eggman, the antagonist, from conquering the world.
Other than Marsden, rumors of ‘Ant-Man’ actor Paul Rudd, ‘We’re the Millers’ star Ed Helms, and ‘Kung Fu Panda’ voice actor Jack Black joining the star-studded cast of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ circulated all over the Internet.
Marsden is popularly known for his role as Scott Summers or Cyclops from the X-Men movie series. He also starred on 27 Dresses, The Notebook, Hairspray, and Enchanted.
‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ is set to hit the theatres in November 2019.
