The Department of Education (DepED) Region IV-A is now accepting nominations for all search categories for its annual 2018 Calabarzon ‘Gawad Patnugot’ awards, until June 29.

The awards program, anchored on the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) and DepEd Order No. 9 s. 2002 on the establishment of PRAISE in the DepED, “aims to recognize and reward the exemplary contribution of the Region’s human resources,” said DepEd Region IV-A Director Diosdado M. San Antonio.

Diosdado highly encourages all School Division Offices (SDO) in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon) to participate in all search categories by sending one official nominee for this year’s regional search.

‘Gawad Patnugot’ is open to instructional leaders, teachers, and non-teaching personnel who have brought honor to their workplace – the SDOs – resulting in work efficiency, organizational productivity and positive results, San Antonio said.

The awards also give recognition to schools and SDOs that put premium on the delivery of quality basic education services, through the effective and transparent implementation of School-Based and SDO’s Programs and Projects.

The award categories are divided into individual, school, and division categories.

For the ‘individual’ award, the categories include Outstanding Teacher, Principal and Researcher in Elementary and High School; Outstanding Education Program Supervisor (EPS) and Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), as well as Outstanding Non-Teaching Personnel Level 1 (with Salary Grades 1 to 9) and Level 2 (with Salary Grades 10 to 22, with the exceptions of EPS and PSDS).

Eleven awards under the ‘school category’ will be bestowed on the most effective school-based program implementer in reading,

Early Language, Literacy, and Numeracy, management, campus journalism, and ‘brigada-eskwela for elementary and high school levels.

The school category includes the school best performing public elementary and high school.

For the ‘Division’ category, the search is focused on the outstanding Gender and Development, Sports, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Division implementer, as well as the best performing schools division office.

Special award categories include the Barangay with Zero out-of-school youth (OSY) and “NatatangingParangal” (special citation) for an organization.

All pre-qualified candidates will undergo various screening and validation processes before doing the final interview to be scheduled in August.
