Vivo Y71 lurking as the sensible solution for budget-conscious buyers

Vivo has its fair share of mobile devices that are widely known for taking snazzy pictures. One device that comes to mind is the Vivo V7+ although it does come at a steep price. For those who held back due to that, the Vivo Y71 may change your mind. It is the latest budget-friendly device that offers pretty much all the standard specs needed by the mobile phone users of today.

The Vivo Y71 is the latest entry to the mid-range device niche that a consumer will want to check out. Externally, the device looks a lot like the V7+ that came out last year. The device is pretty much convenient to hold and packing in more than decent specs for an entry-level phone.

Display quality similar to the V7+

The Vivo Y71 sports an elegant aesthetic make capped by a 6-inch HD display (1440x720 resolution; 18:9 aspect ratio). For those who have been frequently looking at mobile phones available in the market, the Vivo Y71 hardly sports glaring differences.3

Up front are the sensors, speakers, and the 5 MP front-facing camera while the standard power and volume control buttons are located at the right side. The card tray can be found at the left side of the device, three slots allocated for two nano SIM and a microSD card.

Beneath is the 3.5 mm audio port, microphone, loudspeakers and micro-USB port.

What powers the Vivo Y71?

With nothing much to cheer about externally, the interest of most would be what components account for the Vivo Y71. The device runs on a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor backed by 3 GB of RAM. By default, it offers 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD.

The Vivo Y71 is dual SIM ready, comes with FunTouch OS for folks who intend to use it for gaming. Seeing how the device is made for entry-level users, performance may vary depending on the app used. The device does not come with a fingerprint scanner and instead makes use of a face unlock feature.

Formidable cameras for the budget

Ideally, budget phones come with below average cameras. The Vivo Y71 comes with a 13 MP main camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera as earlier mentioned. Seeing how most have placed a premium on the cameras a phone comes with, these should be more than enough.

The main camera surprisingly takes great shots, a lot entirely depending on the lighting environment. It comes with a Pro mode and shutter speed can be adjusted. To tweak the quality of shots, users can adjust using the autofocus mode and white balance. ISO can be adjusted up to ISO 3200.

For a phone that positions itself in the entry-level category, the Vivo Y71 stands as a great device to consider. There are brands vying to position themselves in this crowded market and the Vivo Y71 is shaping up to be a sensible option packed with more than enough acceptable features.
